Last week, we looked at the first half of the phrase, “I am who He says I am because He is who He says He is.” Today, we are focusing on God. There are dozens of descriptions and statements in the Bible that reveal to us God’s identity, but I decided to stick with I statements. Just as we say “I am” so does God. Each one is a reminder that He is good and good to us.
Before we look at His words, I wanted to talk about the power of thanking God for who He is. I consider thankfulness to be one of the most powerful position changers. Thanking Him for everything He has given us is important, but I find that there is a different beauty in focusing on who He is. It is humbling yet empowering. It changes my heart every time I do it. You can check out some of my favorite Thank You statements here.
